Bournemouth Grand Congress – Open results and prizes
GM David Howell showed his class with a clean sweep of the Open and sole first prize of £1000! GM Alexander Cherniaev and strong English junior Peter Williams shared second prize of £200 each with 4½/5.

David Howell defeated Simon Williams in a sharp game in round 4 and in the final round meets the only other player with 100%, FM Jovica Radovanovic. Top pairings:
